Tasked with designing one of four buildings in a mixed-use residential and commercial center located across the street from Washington Square Park in Cincinnati, Ohio, my group and I were challenged to adequately respond to the surrounding context the site would be inserted into as well as the necessary elements for a superb urban living experience. Retail spaces on the ground level and quick pedestrian access to the surrounding area served to ensure that even though our site guaranteed the privacy afforded by a home, it also encouraged public life which lends itself to the urban experience.
